Selon le Wikipedia français, l'idée de la chanson est venue à Freddie Mercury alors qu'il était en vacances en France. De sa chambre d'hôtel, il pouvait voir passer le Tour de France. Mais le Wikipedia anglais affirme que l'hôtel était à Montreux, en Suisse, où Freddy Mercury enregistrait l'album "Jazz".
